Interfaith Families

Interfaith families often wonder where and how they can integrate religion into their lives when one or more family members enjoy different religions.  You may have a single member of your family who is Jewish and would like to remain connected to the Jewish community and religion, or perhaps you are Jewish family with a non-Jewish family member.  Our goal here at Beth El is not to separate the Jewish person(s) from the non-Jewish family members, but to accept the family as a whole, giving all family members the opportunity to share, grow, and celebrate life together – as a family.

Beth El has welcomed many interfaith families over the years, and each family and situation is unique.  To help our interfaith families, Rabbi Alex and Rabbi Amy hold informal get togethers to address many of the issues the interfaith families face. Together, the rabbis and interfaith couples share ideas, thoughts, experiences (and of course something to nosh) while addressing a variety of topics.

Questions About Interfaith Relationships?

Be sure to check out our Ask the Rabbi podcast, where Rabbi Alex answers questions about interfaith relationships, as well as many other topics. We welcome you to visit our shul, meet with our Rabbis, and speak with the many families (both interfaith and non-interfaith) who belong to and are a part of the Beth El community. Don't forget to check our calendar for upcoming Interfaith Family events.
