Guess Who’s Coming to Shabbas?
This program partners congregants with one another for Shabbat dinner in their own homes. The program, which began last year in a suburban congregation outside of Philadelphia, has two goals:
1. Strengthen the synagogue community
2. Help Families build meaningful memories
Read more about the program in the United Synagogue’s CJ magazine.
Our hope is to grow the program exponentially, with invited guests then serving as hosts in subsequent months, leading to 100% inclusion of our member by that end of the year. Temple Sinai in Dresher, PA, where the program started, reached 82%. Think we can beat it? Let’s try?
Don’t be shy. Let us know if you can host! We want our Beth El members to get to know one another outside the walls of the synagogue.
To sign up to be a host or get more information, email Mike Rosenberg or call the Beth El office, (412) 561-1168.
We want to with each of you a “Shabbat Shalom” in person!

Shofar Blowing
If you’ve ever watched anyone blow the shofar during the High Holidays, then you might have comes to the conclusion that it’s not as easy as you’d expect. But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to learn, with the help of a few experienced shofar blowers. We are a shul of teachers and learners, sharing knowledge and experiences, tips and ‘tricks’.
